Grow Essex

Have you seen this man?

This term the pupils at North Colchester GROW are becoming historical researchers who will be investigating villains and outlaws from the past! Henry Catlin was accused of being a thief - and one pupil has imagined what he thinks Henry would have looked like, and has prepared his research questions ready to find out more. This pupil showed great imagination, excellent thinking skills, as well as a positive attitude to learning. Well done!

Back to School!

This week, we have welcomed back the children after the Summer holidays. We have enjoyed hearing all about what they have been up to with their six weeks off! We have also been impressed with how the children have settled back in - having a positive attitude and having a go at lots of activities already! Below: one child showed us his times tables skills, and another showed us his great imagination in a storytelling game.

Under the Sea!

We are very proud of this pupil for creating a wonderful underwater masterpiece!! This pupil not only used their creativity and imagination, but their listening and thinking skills too. We are sure these creations will brighten up the classroom. Well done!

Thanks for the feedback!

GROW Clacton would like to thank a parent for this extremely thoughtful card, which reads:

"Dear Staff,

Lee and I just wanted to say how much we appreciate all that you do each day to support and encourage W to be the best that he can be. I know that you all go above and beyond each day for all the kids and I know that recent events mean more work. Please don't ever think that we don't know how wonderful you all are - and how important you've been and continue to be to the progress W has made.

Thank you again."

Planting "Thyme"

The children at GROW Braintree have all helped to brighten up the school this week by planting some flowers outside of their classroom. The children all showed great listening skills, and were kind and considerate to each other as they all got involved digging and watering!

A new arrival...

Our first chick has hatched at South Colchester GROW! We would like to introduce Georgie, who was named due to her arrival on St. George's day! The children (and staff!) are excited to meet her brothers and sisters soon.

Easter Egg Hunt

The children at North Colchester GROW used their helpful behaviours on an EGGCITING Easter egg hunt today! The children used their problem solving skills to help them solve the clues, which led them to lots of different locations around the school. The children were kind and considerate to each other, sharing the eggs that they found.

We hope everybody has an enjoyable Easter Break!

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? ... No, it's a classroom!

The staff at South Colchester GROW have been watching as parts of their new building have been "air lifted" in! The classrooms are now fully built and set up - and will be a great learning space for the children. The team are looking forward to welcoming new referrals into the classroom following the Easter break.

Unveiling a brand new building at Chelmsford

This term, the Chelmsford GROW moved into their new premises within Newlands Spring Primary. For the last few months, the team have been sneaking in to see the progress being made with the building works, and they have now been able to move into their new space. The new building even has a sensory room and kitchen. We can't wait to share with you the learning that the children get up to in their two brand new classrooms!

Our Solar Sytem

A year 6 pupil at GROW Braintree has been learning all about space and our solar system. This pupil used lots of different resources to research the sizes and characteristics of each planet - so that her model not only looked amazing, but was informative too! Furthermore, this pupil took her model around the school to explain to the younger children. We're sure you'll agree - this model is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!
